Wasco County Soil and Water Conservation District is excited to announce the 2024 Stewardship Poster Contest! This year, the stewardship theme is focused on watersheds and the theme of “May the Forest Be with You Always”.

The National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) hosts an annual poster contest that focuses on a different conservation topic each year. The Wasco County SWCD introduces the conservation topic and poster contest to all the local students each year to engage and educate students on the importance of soil and water conservation. The conservation topic for 2024 is "May the Forest Be with You Always".

Our local winners are now eligible to go on to the State Poster Contest. 😊

Conservation Districts throughout Oregon are invited to submit their first place posters to the state-level Poster Contest.

If your District hasn’t held a local Poster Contest yet, there is still time! The first weeks of fall school session, or even summer school programs are possible opportunities.

The deadline for submissions to the State Poster Contest is November 1st 2024.

Wasco SWCD will be hosting the state-level contest on our website.

First place posters at the state level will receive a prize and the opportunity to continue to the national contest!

State winners will be submitted to the National Poster Contest by December 1st.

The National Poster Contest will be held at the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) Annual Meeting in February 2025.

The national contest awards cash prizes to the top three posters in each category; First-place $200.00, Second-place $150.00, Third-place $100.00.

Entry Instructions for Local and State Competions

State Poster Contest entries should be sent as electronic photos to wasco@wascoswcd.org before the November 1st deadline.

Conservation Districts must include this Local to State Form along with a contest entry form for each poster:

All poster submissions must be sponsored by a local conservation district.
